Photochromic Sunglasses
This page lists all of our eyewear with Photochromic lenses. Wiley-X calls these Light Adjusting, while Oakley refers to the brand they sometimes share the technology with, Transitions. In the absence of UV light, these lenses in their natural state have some-to-little light reducing properties. But with exposure to ultraviolet light, the lenses automatically darken for added protection against bright light. Recommended for outdoor use only.
Please note that Photochromic lenses tend to not get as dark as traditional grey sunglass lenses. The visible light transmission when fully activated (darkened) varies from 9% to 25% depending on the style. Please review the VLT for a style before you purchase.
