Photochromic Safety Glasses

This page lists all of our safety glasses with Photochromic lenses. Wiley-X calls these Light Adjusting, while Oakley refers to the brand they sometimes share the technology with, Transitions. In the absence of UV light, these lenses in their natural state have some-to-little light reducing properties. But with exposure to ultraviolet radiation, the lenses automatically darken for added protection against bright light.

Please note that Photochromic lenses tend not to get as dark as traditional gray sunglass lenses. The visible light transmission when fully activated (darkened) varies from 9% to 25% depending on the style. Please review the VLT for a style before you purchase. The lower the VLT percent, the darker the lens in its darkened state. Recommended for outdoor use only.
