Suzanne Miyasaki, the Principal of San Pasqual Academy.
The Academy, the first residential education campus for foster youth in
the nation, was created to address the needs of foster youth in San
Diego County.

Christiane Holmquist, a local, certified landscape
designer. Her presentation, "Fun with Xeriscapes: Water-wise Designs
for the Arid Southwest," promises to be entertaining and instructional.

Jeremy Manley, entrepreneur-chef from Jeremy's-On-The-Hill in Wynola.
We'll learn how he develops a dinner menu, and the proper presentation of a meal.

Choraleers
The Congregational Choraleers, comprised of eight church members
who find joy in singing, will entertain us this month.

Meggin Sullivan, Medical Oriental Arts
Dr. Sullivan will speak about acupuncture and Oriental
medicine. She is an herbalist as well, and will talk about the
ways the ancient art of Oriental medicine can bring health and healing
to many physical problems

A Pictorial History of Ramona Local
author and historian Richard L. Carrico will give a slide presentation
at 12:30 focusing on images and stories from his new book.

Fashion Show
Kathy’s
Dress Shop
is in the historic district of Julian (next to the Falcon Gallery) and
offers ladies fine fashions, jewelry, accessories, and unique gifts.
Kathy’s carries a variety of clothing, from casual dresses to wear

California Wolf Center
Erin Hunt
An education, conservation, and research center located
near Julian.
Founded in 1977 to educate the public about wildlife and ecology, the
Center is currently home to several packs of gray wolves, some of which
are exhibited for educational purposes.
A visit to the Center provides a unique experience involving one of the
most charismatic and controversial species in North American history.

THE SAN VICENTE VALLEY CLUB’S
30th ANNUAL HOME AND WINERY TOURS
May 12, 2012 (Photos - Click Here) Start your day with us at
the 24157 San Vicente Resort beginning at 9:00 am. Come check out the
Arts and Crafts Fair, Opportunity Baskets, Bake Shop and High End
Collectibles.
There will be a no-host Luncheon and Fashion Show from 12:00 to 1:30.
With your Home and Winery Tour ticket, you can enjoy the beautiful home
of Jim & Debbie Garcia, open from 10:00 to 12:00. If you’re a
quilter and a fan of color, this home on Pappas Rd. is a must see.
We also have 2 beautiful Wineries to visit. They will be open from 1:00
to 4:00. The Pamo Valley Winery is on Black Canyon Rd. Jennifer Jenkins
will open the grounds and barrel room just for us, where you can enjoy
barrel wine tasting and snacks at no cost with your ticket. All this
nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by magnificent mountains.
The La Finquita Winery on Vista Ramona St., where you will be able to
visit their wine cave and taste their wonderful wines for $5.00. This
is half off with your tour ticket. Mario Bergeron makes
beautifully etched glass logos which will be on display. Mario and
Diane have put together a wine basket that you will have a chance to
win. All proceeds will go towards our scholarships and community
funding.
But wait. . . your day is not over. Come back to the San Vicente Resort
for more shopping. We will have entertainment beginning at 4:00
with Bob Anderson . Also, at this time you will be able to enjoy
complimentary hors d’oeuvres and wine specials at $3.00 a glass (less
than happy hour prices) beginning at 4:30. San Vicente Resort will
provide us with dinner specials for $9.99 per meal in the dining room.
The Opportunity Basket drawing be held at 4:30 at the Resort. This wonderful day is yours for just $10.00.
You can buy tickets for this event at the San Vicente Resort (24157 San
Vicente Rd), Pamo Valley Winery (603 Main St,), Ramona Beauty Supply
& Salon (620 Main St), The Crazy 9 Patch, Quilt Shop (2260 Main St)
or call Joan Renaud at 760-788-6960. Tickets can also be purchased the
day of the event at the San Vicente Resort, Garcia home or at both
Wineries. (May 12).
